The look outs for playful, educational and nature prioritising tools were active on my radar since 2018.

I was studying Environment & Planning at Roskilde University in Denmark, working with EU Climate KIC and later Danish Nature Conservation society, while co-parenting two wonderful children.

The topic of ways to bring and involve humans with the outdoors, especially youth and children, was a common recurring theme.

On one such search mid 2022, I came across Silvia Hijano's Interactive paper pop up course on Domestika.
I was blown away!
The way she beautifully captured her nature observations and turned them into stunning paper art works, was Magical!
The experience of creating and experiencing her illutrated art works was magical! (Still is. Everytime I go through the book.)

I am in love with Nature. I find every detail, pattern, colour nuances, shapes, structures and systems fascinating. I am in awe of the complexity of every single element. At the same time of the simplicity it all exists with.

I was hooked - I looked to find people offering workshops with that combination. Nature examination, exploration tours to create these hands-on mathematical and artistic paper mechanics.

I found none!
So I took it to myself. I practiced from the basics.
I studied to simplify. I studied to challenge.

And that is how Pop Unfold came into existence. An amalgamation of my deep love of nature, hands-on artwork, and scandinavian ways to experience and learn.

It is an invitation to get up-close with Nature, impressions and expressions of which, will hopefully keep unfolding.
